Animal Assemblage

This project was a Animal Assemblage project. I started this project by coming up with an animal I wanted to make and I decided on a parrot. I began by making the armature by taking newspaper and making it into the shape of a parrot then taping it together to hold. The parrots head and body was made out of news paper and his feet, beak and tail was made out of aluminum foil and his wings were made of cardboard, after I formed them I hot glued them on.

After making the armature it was time to do the outside. I started with the wings and took pieces of a magazines and glued them on. I did blue on the top and green on the bottom. After I finished one wing I started doing a little on the body but I didn't finish much before I had to stop at that time. I took the parrot home but when I tried to find materials to put on there I could only find cheerleading magazines which the uniforms in there were very bright and bold colors however his first wing was very naturally colored. Luckily I was able to finally able to find something to do with other wing with. Then I "colored" the fee with old origami paper.

I then made the body this took the longest. I spent a lot of time going through the cheer magazines cutting out the red uniforms. The tail was a mix of blues greens yellows and oranges blending back up into the red. then I did his beak with the back of the origami paper and his eyes are part if a small note book. My favorite part of this is probably the back of the tail. I think if I were to change something it would definitely be find a way to use less hot glue so there was less hot glue strings.
