Zombie Frog
7" x 11"
The story behind this art piece is I had to draw a zoomed section of a shoe on to a large piece of paper, when I looked at the image I saw a frog and since it is October I drew a zombie frog. It relates to my life because it is October and I like frogs.
I used an HB pencil to outline the frog's features and a sharpie to define those lines. I took watercolor paints and painted the frog and the water surrounding it. After painting that I took red, black and orange sharpies and added shading to the blood wounds. I then took a white gel pen to add highlights.
I started this piece with drawing and defining the original shoe onto the bristle board. Then I added the frog's shape and painted it with watercolor paint. Then I added some decor pieces in the background. I painted those as well. Then to add detail and contrast, I took red, orange, and black sharpie and placed it on the blood wound area. Then to finish it I took white gel pen to add highlights. I think my art evolved when I added the sharpie onto the blood wounds. My next steps would be to add more highlights.
