Springtime
9" x 11"
The story behind this piece is we used gelli plates and green or blue ink to create nine gelli prints and had to extend or add on to one of the prints, they created a negative space print, a positive space print, and a ghost print, these are shown above. It relates to my life because I love springtime and nature in general.
I started this piece with the gelli plate, green ink, and two leaves, I used my second, positive space print for this extension project.
I started by creating nine prints by rolling a brayer with ink until the gelli plate was covered and placed leaves on top and choosing one of them for the extension project. I then took markers and added more leaves and other flowers and swirls onto the paper. My art evolved when I added the flowers and more colors other than green. My next steps would be to add more definition and detail to the leaves.
