Candy Still Life

The story behind this piece is that we had to make a "collage" of different candy. This relates to my life because these are my favorite candies (Twix, Tootsie Roll Pop, and a Milky Way).

I started with a 4H pencil and sketched the different candy. Then I went in with different chalk pastels, and used an eraser for highlights.

I used a 4H pencil to sketch the basic shape of each of the candies, after that I went in with the orange chalk pencils and normal pastels to create the dimension and shape of the Tootsie Roll Pop and continued with a darker orange and brown to create the shadows for it. Then I went in with the brown pencil and chalk pastel to create the Twix and the Milky Way. My art evolved when I added the highlights and the shadows on the candies. My next steps would be to not add a background but keep it white with some designs.
