Realistic Self-Portrait

Self Portrait

The story behind this piece is that I had to draw a realistic image of myself from an existing photo. This piece relates to my life because it is a self portrait.

I used graphite pencils (2b,4b, and 6b) to create this piece and used the grid method to make it realistic.

I started with gridding my image and paper, then I started shading and drawing from the upper left corner. After it was about done I added a creative piece by making it look like my face was fading away. My next steps would be to add color. My art evolved when I added shadows on the hair.
