The story behind this piece is sunsets typically are made up of many colors and variations of those colors. This piece relates to my life because I find sunsets to be artistically inspiring and beautiful.

I used acrylic paint to create this piece by mixing, white, black, blue, red, and yellow into the various colors.

I started off by marking off 12 sections for 12 colors, then building on each color with 7 variations of that color, 3 lighter and 3 darker. I repeated this for every color, but the sections were becoming mixed and not as clean as I wanted so I had to switch up my placement, which is why the top looks different compared to the bottom. My art evolved when I switched up the placement of the colors and it became much cleaner. If I could do this project again I would do the placement that I did for the top for the whole thing or do something else that would be easier and cleaner.
