My body of work, 'Spiralling out of Control', exposes the devastating, irreversible impact humans have on the natural environment. Ever since I was a child, I have always been extremely invested in spreading awareness for conserving the planet and encouraging those people with a voice to speak up for those who cannot.
By incorporating the Fibonacci sequence, a man-made mathematical concept represented in nature as a spiral form, I portray humanity's parasitic relationship with the environment and relate the natural spiral to the concept of spiralling out of control. The delicate detail of the landscapes aims to capture the natural world's undeniable beauty, which humans have exploited to the point of ultimate destruction. My piece aims to inspire the audience to take action against the damage being done to the natural environment and help to conserve the wildlife living in those threatened natural places. It is time for us to wake up and stop turning a blind eye to what is happening all around us and realise what will be lost unless we act now.
