There is a need for contemporary homes to stop relying on government services such as power and water. They should be eco-friendly and sustainable to contribute to efforts in conserving our environment. The Australian government relies heavily on fossil fuels to produce electricity for our homes. It is well documented that continued use of these fossil fuels will irreparably damage our environment and endanger the world's resources for future generations.

My off-grid house design is targeted at Australia's new home builders and owners, serving as an inspiration to change priorities when creating their homes.

My design is based on housing a 4-person family. The nature of the design is to be self-sustaining and completely off-grid while not compromising on the comfort, size or function of an average-sized home. The building itself is designed around a modular approach based on use: the kitchen, master bedroom, living room and kids bedrooms are all provided in different 'wings' of the house. A very liveable solution that considers the needs of family living and those of the natural environment as well.
