Within the Narrabeen Lagoon area, unexpected and extreme changes in water levels are a common occurrence. In floods, homeowners around Narrabeen Lagoon face potential damage to their boats and boat ramps due to rising water levels. This risk of damage is exacerbated by corrosion that has often already compromised the structural integrity of the boat ramps.

The opportunity exists for a new innovative product that allows boat owners to continue to store their boats on the edge of the lagoon but easily adapts to the changes in water level, effectively minimising damage in the event of flooding.

After experiencing multiple flooding events while living on Narrabeen Lagoon and subsequent damage to both my boat and ramp; as a result, I was motivated to create a floating pontoon solution that allows the boat to be accessible in flood or low tide levels.

My flood-adaptable pontoon design holds my Quintrex 370 Explorer and consistently floats on top of the water despite the changing levels. It features steps and tie-down solutions to ensure safe access to the boat at all times and in all conditions.
