Opener: Introduction | Study Books

• Purpose: The study book is designed to encapsulate what you think is the most significant content of each unit.  This way you have a snapshot of each unit for the end of the year when you are preparing for the AP exam.

Lesson: Study Book | Unit 1: The Global Tapestry

• Create a study book of content for the unit under review.  You are only allowed to use the space provided in the study book so you should plan ahead before writing material in the study book.  If you are a visual learner, consider creating your own charts/graphs or scribble notes.

Closing:  Reminder | Open Notes Quiz 

• You will be able to use your study books on the open notes quiz.  Just remember that you should reflect upon the information provided in the AP World History: Modern Course Description when creating your study book, as that is where I will generate my questions in combination with other resources.

Opener: Vocabulary Quiz | The Worlds of the 15th Century

• • Take the vocabulary quiz in Schoology.  You will have five minutes once you begin the quiz.  

Lesson: Thematic Chart | The Mongols and the 15th Century

• Complete the thematic chart as a class, with each student copying their own chart for sake of studying tonight.  

Closing: Check Student Work | The Thematic Chart

• I will go around and check to make sure your chart matches the one we created on the board.  You will lose points based on how fewer details you have compared to the class chart.

Opener: Prepare | Study for 10 minutes

• • Review your notes, practice writing questions, document analysis, and relevant worksheets

Test: Weeks 6 and 7 | Pastoral Peoples and the 15th Century

• • 20 selected response questions worth two points each

  • 1 modified written response (e.g. write a long essay as a short essay) worth ten points

Closing: Foreshadowing | 1450 to 1750
