1. Who are you doing research with this summer and what kind of research project are you doing?
This summer, I’m working with Dr. Roos and Dr. Thielman to conduct research on patients who have had a stroke and to see if their balance and cognitive skills improve after taking the Ageless Grace exercise course for 12 weeks. After the patient has completed the 12 weeks of the course, they come in person to the lab to complete a series of cognitive tests to evaluate whether they have made any improvements within the last few weeks.
2. What do you find fascinating in the research you’re doing?
I love working with stroke patients and seeing how much they have improved by taking the Ageless Grace exercise course.
3. What skills are you learning through the USURF experience?
What skills are you learning through the USURF experience? Through my USURF experience I’m learning how to collect and enter data into different spreadsheets and I’m also learning how to teach Ageless Grace classes through Zoom.
4. What are the challenges you’re encountering in your research?
The biggest challenge I have encountered in my research is making sure all of the participants get on Zoom in time for the scheduled class.
5. How is your USURF experience impacting the way you view your field?
My USURF experience impacted the way I view my field because it allowed me to connect with different professors and explore different specialties within physical therapy.
6. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I’m professionally trained in three different Indian classical dance forms.
