1. Who are you doing research with this summer and what kind of research project are you doing?
I’m conducting research with Dr. Stephen Moelter. I’m studying the associations between functionals tests used in diagnosing mild cognitive impairment and biological markers.
2. What do you find fascinating in the research you’re doing?
I enjoy my research because it helps add to my understanding of the different tests used by clinicians and researchers to diagnose patients with dementia.
3. What skills are you learning through the USURF experience?
I’m learning how to apply the statistical methods I learned in biostatics.
4. What are the challenges you’re encountering in your research?
One of the challenges I had to overcome was learning to conduct research remotely.
5. How is your USURF experience impacting the way you view your field?
USURF has helped me explore my interest in neurodegenerative diseases.
6. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I enjoy travelling.
7. How has the COVID pandemic impacting you and how are you coping with it ?
I’ve coped with the pandemic by spending time with my family and staying in touch with friends online.
