City Representative to host community meetings on potential Upper Valley development located at 6100 Westside Drive

EL PASO, Texas – District 1 City Representative Peter Svarzbein will host several community meetings this week to discuss several upcoming City Council agenda items regarding the possible development of the property located at 6100 Westside Drive. These agenda items are scheduled for Public Hearing on July 11, 2017. The City’s Planning Division will join Representative Svarzbein for the five community meetings listed below, and both will be available to answer any questions.

Agenda Items:

1) Releasing a condition imposing a maximum density of 2.5 dwellings per gross acre. (6100 Westside Drive - Lot 1-H-1, Block 10, Upper Valley, City of El Paso, El Paso County, Texas and Lot 1-H, Block 10, Upper Valley, City of El Paso, El Paso County, Texas)

2) Amending the Future Land Use Map contained in “Plan El Paso:” for certain properties, from “O-3”-Agricultural designation to “G-4”-Surburan Walkable designation

3) Amending a portion of the Northwest Upper Valley Plan, a study plan incorporated within “Plan El Paso”

The proposed amendments will bring the plan into greater conformance with the goals and policies of Plan El Paso, the City’s Comprehensive Plan. This includes the promotion of cluster development for the Upper Valley area as a means of retaining the character of the neighborhood in future development projects.
