NACA welcomes President Li Xiannian (1985)

The following is taken from NACA Newsletter No. 7, March 15, 1986

During a recent visit by China's President Li Xiannian to the United States, N.A.C.A. together with the U.S.-China Peoples' Friendship Association and the Chinese American organizations in the Washington, D.C. are extended a cordial reception party for Presient Li and his delegation at the Hilton Hotel, Washington, D.C., on July 24, 1985. The party was attended by over 600 persons with N.A.C.A. President Chia-Wei Woo serving as the master of ceremony. Jean Troy, President of the U.S.-China Peoples' Friendship Association, and C. K. Jen, representing the Chinese American organizations, gave welcoming speeches. Entertainment was provided by singer John Denver. Members returning from China reported that news of this event was televised in China by the China Central Television the following day.
