Vocational Scenario or Context

You have recently started working for ‘Care at Home’ Care agency as a Care Worker. As part of your induction you have been shadowing a Senior Care Worker. It is now time for the Senior Care Worker to assess you as you go to support 2 individuals in their own homes. These individuals will become part of your caseload when you start working independently. 

 The Care Manager at the Care Agency has provided you with an overview of the care plans and has asked you to prepare a report. Your must include all of the following:

•  A justification of the strategies and techniques used to overcome the ethical issues and challenges experienced by those individuals when planning and providing care

•  An assessment and an explanation of the strategies and communication techniques used by the professionals at the hospital, to enable the individuals to overcome different challenges

Your report should be a response to these case studies which covers the tasks in relation to the identified service users in the case studies

M3 Analyse how an ethical approach to providing support would benefit specific individuals with different needs.

Distinction

Learners will make reasoned judgements about different ethical issues and their influence on planning support to meet individual care and support needs. Learners must suggest how professionals could best minimise risk and balance resources, to reach a justified conclusion of how this can have a positive impact on the individual.
