"Hi, there! We are Senella and Fenwyn, the Moon Goddesses! I'm Senella, Goddess of the Blue Moon..."
"... and I'm Fenwyn, Goddess of the Red Moon! Such a pleasure to meet you!"
"People have wondered about our relationship to one another -- we're both married to Eleon, the Sun God, but what are we to each other? Sisters, lovers, best friends, soulmates?"
"The answer, of course, is yes. (giggle)"
The two wives of Eleon, whatever else they are, are completely inseparable -- just as the two moons that are their domains. When the blue moon rises over the horizon at night, the red moon isn't far behind, and when the blue moon settles and vanishes at dawn, the red moon never lingers for long in the sky. And so it is with the goddesses as well; if you encounter one, you can bet the other isn't too far away.
Senella, the Blue Moon Goddess, is also the goddess of love -- a kindly and serene, yet passionate woman. Lovers all over the world pray to her, and most marriages are performed in her name. However, while she does, at least in principle, hold marriage as sacred, she also has a notable weakness for "forbidden" or even "tragic" love, and as such she has often been blamed just as much as worshipped. She's the mother of Zoen, the Thunder Goddess.
Fenwyn, the Red Moon Goddess, is the goddess of song and music; all bards, musicians and poets hold her in the highest esteem. She is a merry goddess who shares both her husband Eleon's sense of fun and festivals, and her wife Senella's passion for romance. It is therefore not surprising that so many songs are love songs. She's the mother of Radana, the Rainbow Goddess.
The moon elves have Senella and Fenwyn as their patron gods.
