Rauken, also known as the Silent God, is the god of animals, the wilderness and the hunt.
He is the master and protector of animal-kind and tends to prefer the company of animals to anyone else, even other gods -- and any animal on land or sea will instinctively come to him for protection if they need it. He may be the god of the hunt and the hunter, but any foolish human, dwarf or elf (or dragon) who think they can hunt animals for sport will find that he can be vengeful and merciless towards those who kill needlessly and for fun.
He doesn't really care much about anyone other than his beloved animals -- except for wights, which he has a soft spot for and sometimes does step in to aid. It's rumored (but was never actually proven) that he is their creator and as such feels a certain fatherly concern for them.
Nobody can remember ever hearing Rauken speak. He communicates instead in the silent way of animals, which people seldom understand, but wights sometimes get the gist of.
