"I am Nenaya, Queen of the Sea! The waters, the waves and the storms are all mine to command and control -- and anything that lives, moves or travels in, on, or above the sea do so only with my leave... and that includes YOU.
Still, I am not an unreasonable goddess. I grant you leave to travel within my domain, as long as you in turn agree to respect and honor me and my law. Please me, and your stay will be a pleasant and prosperous one. Disrespect me, my laws or my children, and my vengeance shall be swift and merciless."
Nenaya rules the sea and all creatures in it, and it's said that the sea reflects Nenya's mood: When she is happy, the sea is calm and peaceful, but when she is angry or upset, storms and giant waves make life dangerous for those not in her favor.
Nenaya is a wild goddess; she follows no rules and walks no paths but her own, she goes where she wants and does what she pleases and is all in all just as wild, free and untamable as the sea itself. To follow Nenaya is to play with the unpredictable and dangerous, though it can also be rewarding, for even as wild and dangerous as the Goddess of the Sea is, she can also be the kindest and most generous of the gods. Those in her favor often have good fortune follow them on land and sea, as long as they do not try to tame or bind her with agreements and promises.
At the same time kind and cruel, playful and serious, capable of great forgiveness but also of holding grudges for the longest of times, Nenaya is both feared and revered by gods and mortals alike.
