"Look lively! I'm Margot, and I'm the boatswain of the Black Pike! Better grab onto your unmentionables, cause when you meet up with us you're in for the ride of your life! And if we're generous you might even live to tell the tale afterwards!
And hey, if I ever meet you ashore, no hard feelings, I'll even pay for the next round of drinks!"
"Live hard, work hard, party hard, sleep hard!" could be Margot's motto. The hard-hitting, hard-drinking and hard-partying boatswain of the Black Pike, she's very competent at her job and often ruthless and unforgiving, and is the first to enter a fight, but she's also the crew's biggest party animal and can drink just about anyone under the table.
Perhaps not surprising then that she is, in fact, a dragon. Margot is one of the unfortunate few dragons who grew up without knowing her true nature, and whose first transformation come puberty was a gigantic shock. All of a sudden, at the age of twelve and in the middle of a heated argument, she found herself suddenly turning into a huge, fire-breathing monster, who destroyed quite a few buildings in her home town before she realized what she was doing.
Scared of what she had done, and still in dragon form, she fled out over the magic sea, where after several days of aimless drifting, a starving and exhausted Margot returned to human form and fell down into the sea...
...where she was almost immediately picked up by Captain Nera and her crew, who had seen the dragon fly wildly over the seas for days and had decided to investigate. Prince Rhuno, who reasoned that a dragon wold be handy to have as a crewmember, convinced the captain to take the girl on.
This turned out to be a stroke of luck for both parties. Margot readily took to life at sea, and once she learned to control her transformations from dragon to human form, she became an asset to the crew. As the girl became a woman, she rose in the ranks and became the boatswain.
