"Why, hello there... my name is Micolo. How nice to see you.
Tell me, do you believe in vampires? Do you believe in the Dark gift bestowed upon the fortunate few... a gift called a "curse" by the ignorant? Do you believe that someone can rise from their grave to feast upon the blood of the living?
If you don't... I can show you. There's no need to be afraid... it won't hurt... not too much, anyway.
Unless, of course, you want to believe the nasty rumors... the ones that I'm not a vampire at all, just some poor confused human who got exposed to magic for the first time and was Spellstruck, so that he now believes himself to be a non-existent creature of myth! That any vampiric powers I might have is just the result of the magic lands playing a sick joke on me! Do you believe that? Huh? I ask you, HOW PLAUSIBLE IS THAT?! I AM A VAMPIRE! I AM, I AM, I AM!
...But I digress. Think my offer over, won't you?"
Actually, Micolo isn't a vampire at all. Despite claims to the contrary, he doesn't feast on the blood of the living and sunlight doesn't harm him -- but pointing such things out to him wouldn't do any good.
What he is, is a Spellstruck -- a formerly-mundane person who has been permanently altered in mind and/or body by magic. In Micolo's case it gave him some vampire-like powers, such as a hypnotic gaze, supernatural strength and speed, and the ability to turn into a bat, a wolf, or a cloud of mist. This was more than enough to convince him that he had become a vampire, even if vampires don't actually exist outside of horror stories (or sometimes erotic stories) from the mundane lands.
Micolo tends to play up the "darkly seductive vampire" image as much as he can. He's always posing, preening and trying to act as cool and suave as possible. He's much more likely to try and seduce and play with people than he is to actually attack or kill them -- though if you get him angry enough he can be dangerous.
