Notes

-----

Recipe Notes:

Fill keg with cold water to the 4-quart mark on back.

Remove yeast packet from under lid of HMEs, then place unopened cans of HMEs and UME in hot water (warm liquid pours more easily).

Using the sanitized measuring cup, place Quart of filtered water into a clean 3-quart pot, then SLOWLY sprinkle in Booster™ while continually stirring to avoid clumping.

Once Booster™ is fully dissolved bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

Stir both HMEs and UME into mixture of water and Booster™ (this mixture is called the wort).

Pour wort into keg and bring the volume of the keg to the "Q" mark with cold water (2.4 gallons) and add hops (commando) . Stir vigorously to mix well.

Take OG sample.

Sprinkle yeast into keg and allow to sit for 30 minutes (lid on). Stir vigorously again (aerate), then screw on lid.

Allow beer to FERMENT at lager temperature (between 45°-55°F) for 3 weeks.

OG = 1.068 @ 73*F (1.0696 corrected)

FG = 1.016 @ 60*F

ABV = 7.1%

I did not have room in fridge for filtered water so Pitch temp was a little higher than I wanted (Was trying shooting for 68*F).

Fermentis states:

Pitch dry yeast directly in the fermentation vessel providing the temperature of the wort is above 20C (68F). Progressively sprinkle the dry yeast into the wort ensuring the yeast covers all the surface of wort available in order to avoid clumps. Leave for 30 minutes and then mix the wort e.g. using aeration

Bottled with 111g Mr. Beer booster for approx 3.8 CO2

I got 12 - 16oz flip tops and 8 - 12oz botlles along with 4 oz for me to taste

Was very good, slight wheat taste but smooth and will be a great for drinking this winter.
