E.B.S.I.S. - Eastern Baltic Sovereign Independant States

The E.B.S.I.S. is a collective of states in the Eastern Baltic region, comprised of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kaliningrad, and Belarus. The region was relatively untouched by the Global war, far from the main regions of conflict in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Tensions with the prospect of Russia entering the conflict on the side of China or exploiting the relocation of NATO forces to other theatres by reclaiming its former soviet holdings caused these nations to reinforce militarily, but aside from some saber rattling, no conflict emerged before the arrival of the Alien Star Ship. The next ten years proved a boon to the region. with peace achieved, and industry advancing in leaps and bounds, the economies of these nations grew exponentially. many western commercial companies moved their factories there to take advantage of skilled work forces combined with lower relative wages. as lower level members of the United Earth Government, the Baltic nations were largely ignored by the UEG's economic regulators, and still benefited from the advance of technology. After the destruction of much of the earth by the Zentraedi Grand Fleet, the region quickly developed into an Independent Nation-State, one often at odds with the newly reformed UEG in North America.
