THE INVOCATION:
P: We gather together this Easter morning and say:
C: In the name of the Father, who has created us; in the name of the Son, who has redeemed us; and in the name of the Holy Spirit; who sanctifies us, we begin our worship service this Holy Day.
OPENING HYMN: “Morning Breaks Upon the Tomb” #203
EASTER GOSPEL: The Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ as presented as a harmony of the four Gospel writers.
CONFESSION and ABSOLUTION:
P: If we say we have no sin; we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
C: But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
P: We then confess our sins unto God our Father:
C: I confess to God Almighty, before the whole company of heaven and before you my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned in thought, word and deed by my own fault, by my own most grievous fault; therefore I pray to God Almighty to have mercy upon me, forgive me all my sins, and bring me to everlasting life through my crucified and risen Lord, Jesus Christ.
P: Indeed, it was our sins and the sins of the whole world that caused our Lord to be crucified on Good Friday, yet out of His great love for us sinners, Christ offered Himself as the price for the sins of the whole world. God, the Father, has accepted that sacrifice and raised His Son from the dead, so that all who believe in Him may have forgiveness of sins and everlasting life.

P: O God of Life and Father of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

C: into the new and eternal day of joy and gladness
P: You have brought life and immortality to light
C: by the glad tidings that, CHRIST IS RISEN!

C: We give You thanks
P: You have delivered from the grip of death Your Son,
C: who died for our sins, and raised Him by Your almighty power
