IPhone 4g will be released in USA on 24-June-2010 and available September worldwide. The key features are sharp display (HD), two cameras with front one for Video chatting on WiFi, thinner than 3gs (25% thinner)
Central to the iPhone 4 will be a new display screen dubbed 'Retina.' The touchscreen display will support resolutions of up to 960x640. Other hardware upgrades include extended battery life, a 3 axis gyro and both front and back-mounted cameras.
Running on the iPhone 4 handsets will be the fourth incarnation of the iPhone OS, which the company is now calling iOS4. First unveiled in April, the firmware update adds support for multi-tasking and folders.
For iPhone 4 users, the OS will also support FaceTime video chat. The wi-fi service allows iPhone 4 users to connect and chat through the handset's front-mounted video camera.
The back-mounted 5 mega-pixel camera capable of shooting HD video and editing movie clips through an optional mobile iMovie application. Take beautiful, detailed photos with the new 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash. The advanced backside illumination sensor captures great pictures even in low light. And the new front-facing camera makes it easy to take self-portraits.
The FaceTime video calling will set a new standard for mobile communication, and the new Retina display is the highest resolution display ever in a phone, with text looking like it does on a fine printed page. Apple has been dreaming about both of these breakthroughs for decades.
Apple confirmed that the iPhone 4 would be hitting shelves in the US and UK on 24-June-2010 with pre-orders opening on 15 June. The 16 GB model will retail at $199 and the 32GB model at $299. The 8GB iPhone 3GS will be offered as a $99 handset.
Apple plans to deliver iOS 4 to iPhone and iPod Touch users as a free update on 21-June-2010.
