Giant Squids, just like their name they are squids that are giant. Dr. Sunemi Cubodera, a Japanese zoologist, caught a total of 4 giant squids 600 miles southwest of mainland Japan. The giant squids have eight legs and two tentacles, their habitat is from 1000 to 3000 feet. The Giant Squid's eye is larger than a big plate. The Giant Squid eats big fish, other Giant Squids, and some regular squids. Dr. Cubodera has studied 123 specimens of Giant Squids and knows that Giant Squids have spines and a 20 foot long tentacles. The Giant Squid's arch nemesis is the sperm whale. The sperm whale paralyzes the Giant Squid with a wave. But the Giant Squid doesn't stop fully, scars of struggle show on Giant Squids and on Sperm Whales. The Sperm Whale dives an average of 2600 to 3200 feet so Dr. Cubodera searched for Giant Squids down there. Sperm Whale's hunt for 18 hours for 30 minute segments. Koichi Mori, who helped Dr. Cubodera, made a crossbow that shoots a depth tracker on to the whales to get this information. They found a tentacle of a squid that broke away from the hook but left a tentacle. This tentacle was still living when it was brought on board. But once they saw a living female Giant Squid the only one captured alive on film. Giant Squids are very cool creatures that are not myths made up by people who claim to have seen it.
