New User Registration (pre-pandemic R Kirkwood 2016) :
Go to jwnc.eng.gla.ac.uk (page only available through campus network) and enter Username: Guest and Password: apollo11
Choose New User Registration in the left menu to fill out the registration form. There are instructions to help with registration under Lab Information.
In addition to the online registration you must complete a safety tour (arranged regularly by JWNC staff) and read the necessary COSHH forms.
Fabrication 101 - Learning basic fabrication of SNSPDs.
Step 1: Read the PDF pamphlet below 'Fabrication 101.pdf'
Step 2: Follow the instructions in 'Fabrication 101 ticksheet.pdf' below, filling in the relevant information as you go along. At each stage* you can find the information you need and learn the techniques and processes from more experienced members of the Quantum Sensors group. *Apart from some specific training provided by JWNC staff, namely...
Step 3: Book training through the JWNC website for the following equipment:
MA6 - photo-lithography training (this includes substrate cleaning and resist spinning)
Plassys II and IV - evaporation deposition training (useful to define markers for e-beam lithography)
S4700 and SU8240 - SEM Microscope

Step 4: Begin e-beam training. This includes E-Beam lecture course (held once yearly), e-beam course notes (available on JWNC website), and processing with help and guidance from a more experienced group member/buddy.
NB: Learning how to prepare and submit jobs for e-beam lithography and for dry etching are significantly more in-depth and complex than other procedures (such as substrate cleaning etc.). There is a lot of material available to you through the JWNC website and from other cleanroom users. Start reading and absorbing these resources as soon as possible.
