Here is a pretty comprehensive list of papers from our group from the GU Enlighten database
http://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/engineering/staff/roberthadfield/#/allpublications,articles
It is now a funder and REF requirement that an open access preprint of the paper is available from the host institution - this is the purpose of Enlighten.
Please note for papers where the work is led by our group, we need to archive the supporting data. This is done by the Research Data management team in the GU library
http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/datamanagement/
At the point you submit a manuscript to a journal, you should get ready the supporting data for archiving (e.g. via an annotated excel spreadsheet)
When you receive the acceptance email from the Journal please do the following:
1. Email the final preprint version (ideally not yet formatted with the Journal letterhead) to research-openaccess@glasgow.ac.uk
and ask them to create an enlighten entry. Tell them you need to make the paper open access.
2. Tell the journal publisher you want Open Access. Forward messages on publication charges to research-openaccess@glasgow.ac.uk The library will then take care of the publication charges.
3. Email a spreadsheet of supporting data to research-datamanagement@glasgow.ac.uk and ask them to create a data management record linked to the Enlighten entry for the paper
Sounds painful but is actually very straightforward!
ORCID
For all University staff (including PDRAs) we are expected to have a ORCID identifier (this is preferred over Researcher ID or Google Scholar profiles)
You can create one here
This should be linked to your staff and enlighten profile. Some publishers (eg IOP) add this to author details.
