Japan with my Mommy

I spent a few days in Tokyo, hanging out with my Mom, who was working and living there. I spent some time bonding with the locals (I’m the smaller one)

And relaxing on the water (by the imperial palace)

But the best part of my trip was the time we spent out of Tokyo. I went to Kyoto for a few days, first with my friend DJ, then my mom joined us for a few days. Most of the views were stunning and like the photos below.

It was August, so there was no reason for this crazy pop of color. But I assure you it was completely natural.

The calming rock gardens, that’s a real thing. I love Japanese culture.

We stayed in a traditional Japanese inn, called a Ryokan. We had our own private garden, and were served with tea as soon as we arrived.

After a few days, Mommy joined us (this is her in front of the Ryokan).

It includes these awesome “summer kimonos”, which are made out of cotton and feel amazing to walk around in. It also has an onsen in the basement. Having already been to Korea, I knew the drill (always wash first. ALWAYS).

On our way back to Tokyo we stopped at Osaka for the aquarium. It has a center tank that is legendary. No exaggeration, it is absolutely amazing, housing Whale Sharks and Manta Rays the size of cars. This one could not stop doing back flips.

I stood there for hours pressed against the glass watching the majestic glory of these creatures moving.

Finally, Mommy and I got dressed up as Geishas. It was a taxing procedure that was so streamlined it took ~ 1 hour. While we both practiced looking demur, it’s not our natural state of being.

This is how I look “demur”...

The whole time we were traveling we traveled in style, by Shikansan. It’s the Japanese high speed train and they do not fuck around. There is no such thing as a train being late in Japan. It simply doesn’t happen. Ever.
