Adding Tri Stat Systems to Gonzo Gaming
Bro, just change d6’s to d20’s. Roll 2d20 for each stat, keep whatever is rolled.
One thing to consider when converting:
Body = Str, Con and Dex
Mind = Wis and Int
Soul = Cha and whatever miscellaneous stat is in your system
To clarify, when rolling for Abilities through Tri-Stat system, the one roll for each one (B/M/S) will equal out the same to whatever is connected to it.
A roll of 40 in Body will equal to 40 in all three Str, Con, and Dex!
Use d20 tables to determine Ability Modifiers, skills, and saves.
Ignore derived values from Tri-Stat, apply d20 to it all.
For a Tri-Stat starter, any and all Feats or Skills from any other setting will cost double the points necessary to acquire. In the case of DnD 5e half-ASI feats, it would cost the player 50 Style Points instead of the usual 25 for a 5e player. This also means feats from BESM that cost only 2 points would cost 4 for a Tri-Stat player.
Tri Stat Pointers To Keep In Mind:
-This does NOT mix with BeSM d20.
-Allow the users the standard point cost for any feats/abilities/whateverhaveyou from Tri Stat itself. If they try to go off-book, it’s gonna cost ‘em double!
-Suggest Tri Stat if they’re true min-maxers or know they’re playing a long-running campaign.
-Due to the synergy between BeSM d20 and Tri-Stat, and due to how cheap and plentiful the feats and abilities in BeSM d20 and Tri-Stat are, make sure the player is aware of this versus acquiring feats from other game systems.
-Keep in mind the GM will have to consider Milestones or Leveling/XP for the entire party. This applies to the Tri-Stat starter as well.
General Pointers To Keep In Mind:
-Discuss with the GM regarding usage of Savage Worlds game system functions versus other functions. It is ultimately up to the GM how this should best be addressed for their individual world and game setting.
-GM’s: When remixing game system functions, please be aware that you might be overpowering an already overpowered game system. For instance, combining functions from both 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons with Pathfinder 2.0, you may end up creating a certifiable loophole that the gamers may find and exploit. BE PREPARED FOR THIS - you screwed with it, now you should accept it! As always, never screw with the Rule of Cool and Rule of Badassed…unless you wanna.
You’re the GM, do whatever ya gotta do. Just remember to do it with style!
