In these pages you will find tips and tricks I have learned while using LibreOffice. I have been using LibreOffice for many years - mostly in it's earlier incarnation as OpenOffice.org, and even before that as Star Office. But whether you are using LibreOffice or OpenOffice.org, you should find the information in these pages equally applicable.

About LibreOffice

LibreOffice is a "productivity suite" available for free for GNU/Linux, Mac, and Windows. You can download (and get more detailed information) it here: https://www.libreoffice.org/ If you are a GNU/Linux users, chances are it is already installed on your system.

LibreOffice provides six applications:

LibreOffice Writer
LibreOffice Calc
LibreOffice Impress

Writer

Writer is a full featured word processor. Writer is also capable of reading and writing Microsoft Word formats, and will also easily create PDF documents.

Calc

Calc is a full featured spreadsheet application. Calc is also capable of reading and writing Microsoft Word formats, and will also easily create PDF documents.

Impress

Impress is a full featured presentation application (including multi-media presentations). Impress is also capable of reading and writing Microsoft Word formats, and will also easily create PDF documents.

LibreOffice Draw
LibreOffice Base
LibreOffice Math

Draw

Draw enables you to create drawings, sketches, 3D illustrations, and more. Draw can export in PDF format, as well as in many image formats.

Base

Base is a database application, and is integrated with other components of LibreOffice. Create databases from scratch, or import from HSQL, MySQL, Adabas D, Microsoft Access or PostgreSQL.

Math

Math is an equation editor for mathematical, chemical, electrical or scientific equations.
