This is a points based event using the weekly scores submitted for each player. As in the past year we will be using online score entry.
Points are awarded automatically based on the score submitted and will be accumulated through the year.
Ensure that the hole-by-hole scores are clear and that they add up to the front and back nine sub-totals and the total for the round that you think you scored!
If scores are not submitted, you will not be able to earn Cup points.
Do not enter Adjusted scores. All scores should be gross.
If a player elects to "pickup" and move onto the next hole, enter a 10 (See Local Rules) (Opting to not complete a hole).

All Gaffers are automatically enrolled in Gaffers Cup.
Each Wednesday the total net score of the attending players are ranked from lowest to highest. Net scores are calculated from the hole-by-hole gross scores based on a player's assigned Gaffers Handicap.
The results sheet is posted on this site weekly - see this link which includes the hole-by-hole scores. Week Scores
Points Scheme:
The points available will be based on the number of members in the scoring system. So for example if there were 55 members the maximum points will be 55. If the number of regular members changes the points maximum will be adjusted automatically for the pertinent weeks.
The player with lowest net score in such a week would earn 55 points. The player with the second lowest net score in any given week will earn 54 points. The player with the third lowest net score in any given week will earn 53 points. The player with the fourth lowest net score in any given week will earn 52 points (and so on)
In cases when there is a tie for the net score, each of the players will receive an average of the sum of the tied positions.
Example
Qualifying Points: The points for the best weeks are totalled throughout the season leaving out the lowest two points scores for each player. This is designed to allow for absences for vacations etc. This is the player's Qualifying Points Total.
A week that is a No Play Day does not count at all. It will not be part of the event and will not used as one of the two 'lowest points scores' for exclusion.
The overall winner will be determined by the player amassing the most Qualifying Points.
The Cec Archibald Memorial Trophy (which was crafted by Cec Archibald) will be awarded to the winner to keep for the year.
Prize money will be assigned at year end based on the qualifying points accumulated during the season.
There is a total prize budget determined by the fees paid by Gaffers. All other events (other than Gaffers Cup) have predetermined budgets. The Gaffers Cup prize fund is the amount remaining after all the fixed prizes are subtracted.
The total Gaffers Cup prize budget is divided by the qualifying points accumulated by all players throughout the season and a 'price per point' is determined.
Each player is awarded a prize amount based on the points earned x price per point, then rounded to the nearest cent. There is a minimum $5 prize for participants in the Gaffers Cup.
