1c butter
1c brown sugar
1/2 box of crackers (graham, ritz, breton, whatever you want)
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
optional:
crushed peppermint
almonds or other nuts
crushed pretzels
sea salt
Basically- You preheat the oven to 350, grease (heavily) a cookie sheet and then cover it with a single layer of crackers. Melt a cup of butter in a sauce pan over medium high heat and then you add in a cup of brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Pour it over the crackers and place in the oven for about 12minutes (until it bubbles, but don't let it burn). Take it out of the oven and immediately pour a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips over the top and leave for about 3 minutes. The chips will melt enough to spread evenly with a rubber spatula, and then you can add toppings like crushed peppermint, sea salt, almonds, etc.). Freeze for about an hour, or refrigerate overnight- remove, break into pieces and watch it disappear. (
