First Settlement Recognition

This plaque commemorates formal recognition

by the South Australian Parliament, in 1991,

of Reeves Point, Kingscote,

as the first official European settlement

in South Australia

on 27th July 1836.

It also records the initiative of

the K. I. Pioneers Association

in achieving this recognition.
