Organic waste is defined as discarded produce, green material, landscaping and pruning waste. Since the beginning of 2022, California state law mandated the collection of organic waste.
Discarded produce can be donated to individuals who are in agreement with the general manager to take the product for their farm animals. All other discarded produce and/or organic waste is collected and self-hauled to John Smith Road Landfill in Hollister, CA but the priority is to donate the waste.
Inorganic waste is waste that is composed of inorganic compounds and are difficult to decompose. This includes but is not limited to, drip tape, plastic cover. Inorganic waste is self-hauled to local waste management businesses such as John Smith Landfill.
The Field Manager is in charge of designating and telling employees to clean up any waste, whether it is organic or inorganic waste. The field manager is in charge of self-hauling the waste to the appropriate place.
