Traceability records will be maintained on file for at least 2 years, or as prevailing regulations dictate. This includes 1) all invoice records that link the product to coolers/wholesale markets and 2) all receipts records that link the product to the source of production input (seeds, transplants, soil inputs, pesticides), 3) Sales records and receipts shall be maintained on file for all produce sales.

All product arriving to the packing house will be identified with a cone on the pallet that include the date picked, the ranch, count, and variety. First in products will be first to go out. This is to ensure that product is packaged fresh.
When different product (commodity/variety) or product from a new field is brought to the packing line, there is a pause to let the product from the previous production run finish being packed and a new batch / lot is assigned to the next production run.
After the product is graded and packed into cartons, a label is applied to the carton containing human-readable information about the product.
If product is packaged in plastic pouches that are sealed, the pack date and the receipt number will be added either by laser ink jet or by sticker. They then get placed in a box that will include a label that states the information of the product.
Once the pallet is ready to ship to a customer, JAS must make sure that a pallet tag with an has been created and affixed to each pallet being shipped. The SSCC pallet tag number will be linked to internal pallet information within JAS internal systems.
GTIN Labels
GTIN labels are added to all product boxes. All labels should include: the product name, where the product is from, the distributor, the packer, and the location where it was packed. Also included will be the receipt number on the barcode.
