April 2010

Arts:

Concerts galore!

Mahler 5th at the Walt Disney Auditorium

La Traviata at the SD Opera

Mainly Mozart at the Neurosciences

Movies:

Fermat's Room, a math thriller with very interesting visuals. We must say that the math problems were rather silly: we used to have them as kids...

Some of the exteriors were filmed in el Panta de Sau close to home. We know of a short shot there: Rara avis by Jordi Casadevall.

Documentaries:

Wonders of the Solar System: a 5-part documentary on what is around us, and how it came to be. Brian Cox (Prof) with a funny English accent, seems a graduate student having fun in the solar system. With all his traveling, we would too!

(for another take of the wonders)

Invisible worlds, on what we do not see; from the beautiful to the gross and all what is in between.

Incident of the month:

Rocking and shaking! 7.2 earthquake in Calexico-Mexicali

Treason! Our dependent fraternizes with republicans for a can of whiskas!

What caught our attention:

At last the San Diego city library lends eBooks! No more mites at home!

A TED talk on how to ted

What did we learn:

Languages of the world, before we loose them!

What did we discover:

Peter Fay, will his photography make us rethink our wall of fame?

What did we achieve:

Llonguet, catalan bread.

How to roll, and how to cut it.

Recipe here.

Our pictures of the month:
