September 2008

Arts:

Agamemnon, at the Getty Villa. The first part of the Oresteia trilogy left us thirsty for more.

Movies:

Tony Rome:Another touch of noir dialogues in a very 60's settings. No wonder our parents...

Documentaries:

Walk to Beautiful: The journey of ethiopian young women -we would call them girls- to be treated for obstetric fistulas suffered after extremely long deliveries and years of isolation in their communities.

Incident of the month:

Inmate lunch: five minute recipe consisting of scrambled egg with rice and tomato sauce served in a mold. With such a presentation the husbie thinks he is not anymore in the county jail.

Mixes, (aka waffles, jacqueline, paquita) brought us a rat ...well, just half, to show us that she can do it. No way to put it away, she kept bringing the left over until none was left.

What caught our attention:

Fresh Air's interview to Thomas Friedman, his views of a world that is hot, flat and crowded and why America should lead a green revolution. Listen the first 5-10 minutes its very good, he is extremely articulate.

What did we learn:

french on the fridge!

Our picture of the month:
