W and Z physics with CMS
I will present measurements of inclusive W and Z vector boson production
rates for pp collisions at 7 TeV c.m. energy, based on the decays of the W
and Z bosons into electrons and muons in the CMS detector at the Large
Hadron Collider. I will then show a comparison of these measurements
and the ratio of W and Z production rates with theoretical predictions computed
at the level of next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) in perturbative QCD.
Finally, I will give an overview of the precision electroweak measurements
at LHC and their usefulness in constraining the parton distribution function
and to search for physics beyond the Standard Model.
