Background
Vormyll is extremely selective about which people that can attune. This often provokes envy from outsiders, but the quality of Vormyllic goods and services is indisputable nonetheless. Followers of Vormyll are often famous adventurers, extremely wealthy merchants, or high-power politicians.
The process for being named Sentinel of Vormyll has been formalized into an annual tournament that attracts spectators from all over the continent in an enormous two-week festival.
The Vormyll pillar selection process is fairly mysterious. In order to see the pillar, which is invisible to passerbys, one attempting to atune must inhale the fog that rises from a hole of unknown depth in the middle of the pillar selection area. Then one must physically hold onto the pillar to atune, though not everyone who attempts to will. The hole from which the fog rises leads to various subterranean levels in which other species (a gigantic, humanoid rock people in the level directly below, unknown species below them) are seemingly gathering for the same atunement process. The existence of subterranean species is known and seemingly not worrisome to those atuned to Vormyll.
Father Benjamin, the Archon of Dhynn (the First), has revealed that Vormyll in ancient times was a human woman before she ascended, through some unknown process, into a dragon/pillar.
Certain Chracioites knowledgeable about relationships between the dragons, like the Sentinels Encis and Glad of War, hold Vormyll a in slight contempt, primarily because Vormyll considers herself above Chracio. Glad himself had a dream about Vormyll and Vulsh's visit to Chracio's desert where Vormyll gave the air of being able to make more of the area than Chracio did.
