Background
Since the war, more stories have sprung up about Mercayen than perhaps any other pillar, causing many of the myths to become more and more convoluted as time passes.
Mercayen was once entered into a pact with Aeonus, who once claimed the red pillar, in order to protect herself from his progeny Shul, who back then was a red and green dragon.
Exiled after the war, Mercayen returned to the world when both she and Esseldi created the pillar of Untara, which Untara ceded to Mercayen so that she could return to the world. Once returned, she fought with her children against Shul. Although, ultimately victorious, she lost three of them in the battle. Afterwards, she sponsored a new pit in the desert with Veckra to replace Chracio, the son who had sacrificed himself for her sake. This new pillar Gladius was the last surviving Sentinel of her late son.
