His sword, which was embedded in the helmeted skull of the slain legionnaire, was later recovered by Haas. He was prior to the Sentinel who was prior to Encis.

Background
Stories of Chracio's origins vary wildly from place to place, but the most popular myth is that Chracio was the youngest of all of Vulsh's children. Mercayen saw in Vulsh an oddity of a black dragon. Black dragons were historically very powerful but also very cowardly dragons. In contrast to this norm, Vulsh was not cowardly. Mercayen sought to temper this savage powerfulness with her own ambition, and in Chracio, she received possibly the best result their union could have produced. Chracio retained his father's savageness and pride, as seen in his sacrificial, bloodletting attunement ritual and the harsh, unforgiving nature of his followers. Likewise, he inherited his mother's ambition and did have an inner desire to build something worth being proud of and a perhaps begrudging regard for his family. This manifested in Chracio settling in the heart of the Serac Desert. The desert was Shul's domain before he fled west and in his absence, no other dragon desired to settle there and risk Shul's ire, especially since Shul still had a presence below ground with his Chitter followers. Chracio, though, was tired of being belittled by his older siblings. He set out to prove his worth by claiming the most ruthless place on the continent, and so his pillar came to stand for survival and ambition ... the idea that raw determination, not status or birthright, is what mattered most above all else.
The attunement process for Chracio is relatively straightforward. Those drawn to Chracio are pushed into a quicksand pit and must struggle their way away from its center. Insiders are given the advantage of being warned beforehand of what kind of test they're taking while outsiders who have heard the call are pushed in without warning. Failure to attune results in death, as those who are unprepared are consumed by the quicksand.
Mythically, Chracio has desired the respect of his father and older siblings and has long resented not having the acknowledgement he believes that he's earned. This has led to an estrangement from his family that has only recently begun to heal with a new alliance between Vulsh and his children. Chracio is not particularly fond of Vormyll, who he thinks is far too smug.
History
After becoming wounded defending its territory from Shul, Chracio choose to return to the world, smashing through the Dhynn's carefully erected barrier around the world. This action would leave the world vulnerable to other Dragons and things from beyond that want to visit without first gaining Dhynn's permission. This also left the pit vulnerable and it was then attacked by a representative of Dionastra. Gaskim and the Silver Foxes helped defeat the invader. Subsequently, Chracio appointed two new Sentinels: one to defend its territory, and one to represent its will in the world.
Upon his return, the higher level players of the world were worried Chracio would directly involve himself in the war and lead to planetary devastation or the revocation of certain rules preventing the dragons from taking a more direct hand in enforcing their will. While he came very close to proving all the naysayers right, his will was ultimately tempered by his only slightly less reckless sentinel.
Chracio met his end in the Battle of the Dragons. Shul had come flying in from the west with his Sentinel and five legionnaires in tow. Chracio intercepted the Red Dragon and teleported him and the Sentinel on his back away from the city. Although all save one of the five legionnaires were slain in the ensuing battle, they were successful in killing many of Chracio's followers and undoubtedly weakened the dragon going into his battle with Shul. In the snowy wilderness that he had teleported them to, Shul and Chracio squared off unable to do anything against one another until Reck arrived and revealed Pan's interference. Shul slew Pan and a battle of dragons begun in which Shul at various times fought Emeri, Reck, Chracio, and Mercayen. Reck became Shul's second victim that day and Chracio almost became another until his sentinel Glad of War used a magical item to teleport him to the pit. Upon defeating Shul's sentinel with his allies, Glad of War returned to the fatally wounded Chracio at the pit who, knowing that Aeonus could use three dragon souls to make Shul mortal, fully intended to go out fighting and provide the last component of that spell to spare his sibling and mother. The Glad of War spared Chracio the indignity of dying at Shul's hand and took his dragon's life himself. And Shul, made mortal, was slain by the Glad of War and his sentinel's allies.
Sponsored by Mercayen and Veckra, Glad of War became the new dragon of the pit and plans to erect Chracio's massive skeleton above the pit as a monument to is sacrifice and indirect victory, standing triumphantly over the skull of the hated foe he sacrificed himself for.
Membership
The skills said to be common to followers of Chracio are body magic and blink.
Chracio accepts offerings in form of personal glory won in his name and tributes from foes defeated in his name. The particularly spiritual follower can commune with the dragon for guidance and become invigorated before battle.
While many attuned to Chracio aren't particularly spiritual, those who work on that connection can gain guidance. And those who find themselves in the middle of important matters can feel Chracio's watchful eye and presence. This can result in boons to ones willpower.
Archons of Chracio are chosen based on how far they've come in life. Ideal candidates are those who've started lowest and attained the most.
One of Chracio's Sentinels was said to be a vampire and use occult magic.
