As much as you want to get out of there, you know that if the girl leaves, there's little chance of her being able to return, and she's the only one that would be able to guide you out of here.
You shake your head at her when she points at the ceiling again, and instead listen again at the rock. You might be able to roll it away, but there are too many lizards outside for you to fight barehanded. Resigning yourself, you slump down against the floor.
The girl looks at you desperately for a moment, but then glowers at you and sits down on the stone surface and looks away, refusing to face you.
After several hours of silence and no good ideas, the stone suddenly rolls away and you find yourself staring at the massive lizard. It stares at you for a moment, then turns to face the young girl. Something unseen passes between them, as she stands sullenly, stubbornly refusing to look at you, and walks out of the chamber. The lizard withdraws and the stone is rolled back again. You hear the footfalls of the girl padding away for a few moments, and then again all you hear is the soft hissing of the lizards just outside the door.
You don't know how long you wait. It could have been mere hours, but if feels like days. After what seems like an eternity, the stone is rolled back again and several lizards clamor in to drive you out of the room. You don't see the giant one, but there are plenty of the smaller ones, and they once again begin to herd you.
Without the girls help, the going is slow and painful. You're weak from hunger, but still they push you forward. With all of the distractions of trying to find your way, you fail to notice for some time that it is getting warmer, and there is more of the lumiscent moss. As soon as you catch on, you start to see narrow shafts of light cracking through, suggesting you are near the surface. Finally, you turn a corner and are blinded for a moment by direct sunlight. It is a way out. You turn to see that only one lizard is still with you, the rest having fallen away as you got closer to the surface. This one opens its mouth and a small wad of something falls out, then rolls it over to you.
Picking it up, you realize with horror that it is some of the girl's hair. The lizard stares at you, unblinking, and you get the message. This is the domain of the lizards. Leave, and do not return. You take a step toward the light, the lizard turns and disappears into the darkness.
The End.
