In order to design your organiser you need to know what you will be organising! Make a list of all the items you think are likely to be kept in your organiser. Copy and complete the table below:
There are limited materials and equipment available.
Copy an complete the table bellow:

Based upon you research above into the items you will store. Consider the follow questions:
What kind of storage will suit best each item? Trays, compartments, hooks, shelves etc?
What size compartments will be needed?
How deep will they need to be so that items will not fall over?
Can you reach the bottom?
Will it tip over?
Is it to be used when stored? (e.g; tape dispenser?)
What about a base?
Will your phone be being charged?

Conduct product analysis into similar and related products for inspiration. Consider form, function, materials and aesthetics
Product Analysis is the process by which you examine how other people have solved a problem similar to yours. Look at similar products for inspiration. How did others solve this problem?
Analysis should include; materials used, ergonomics, aesthetics, form and function, how it was made and what design idea could you perhaps use.
Find images of similar products (storage) or indeed designs that just inspire you in this project (architecture, furniture ect)
Complete a table like the one bellow: (don't just copy my images tho!)

Girls desk tidy
Description/Analysis
3 or 4 different levels and compartment depth/sizes.
Tall items at the back, small at the front.
Ideas and inspiration
I like the 'stepped' design which allows for easy access to all sized items. No reaching over.
Love the Shape.
Wider at the top than at the bottom.
Pens and pencils could hang down.
Curved desk tidy
Cool, sleek shape.
Well balanced with 3 sections plus shelves.
Can fit a phone perfectly.
Bottom shelf on the right keeps pen from hitting the floor.

Create a Design Brief of your own that outlines the constraints and considerations for this design task
Write a design brief that draws upon all of the above research. A paragraph or two that outlines the what you are going to make, why your are making it, who will use it, where it will be used, what will it achieve and most importantly, what are the major constraints for your design.
A good design brief will describe the situation and the problem that needs solving, analyse research conducted, describe the constraints in place and and suggest the general direction for the designs.
