THERE ARE THREE MAIN SOURCES OF MINERAL RAW MATERIALS FOR THE EXTRACTION OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS:

  1. Placer deposits ofores containing REE (alluvial deposits).

  2. Indigenous ore primary deposits containing REE.

  3. Waste and not the traditional raw materials containing REE.

Modern life is unthinkable without the trendy gadgets, clean engines, high-quality sound systems and many other high-tech products. Almost all of these devices were created using rare earth elements. Demand for REE has increased dramatically over the past 20 years. You often hear that an investment in obtaining the rare earth minerals is very profitable. So whether it is beneficial in reality? Let's see together. More information...

THE RAW MATERIAL FOR THE EXTRACTION OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS

RARE EARTH ELEMENTS (REE) or RARE EARTH METAL (REM) is the common name of 17 chemical elements: scandium (Sc), yttrium (Y) and the 15 elements of the lanthanide group: lanthanum (La), cerium (Ce), praseodymium (Pr), neodymium (Nd), promethium (Pm), samarium (Sm), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), terbium (Tb), dysprosim (Dy), holmium (Ho), erbium (Er), thulium (Tm), ytterbium (Yb), lutetium (Lu).

REE are divided into two groups:

  • Light rare earth elements (LREE), also known as the cerium group: Sc, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd.

  • Heavy rare earth elements (HREE), also known as the yttrium group: Y, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu. More information about REE...
