CLASSIFICATION OF FLOTATION MACHINES
The author of classification is Ph.D. Natalia Petrovskaya
Flotation machines are classified by mode of aeration and mixing (shake) pulp, and are subdivided into the following categories:
■ Mechanical flotation machines
■ Pneumatic flotation machines
■ Flotation machines with variable pressure:
Vacuum-type flotation machine
Compressor-type machine (flotation cell vertical flow or tangential flow)
■ Flotation machines special applications
Electric flotation cells
Airlift machine
Pneumohydraulic machines
Open gutters
■ Combined flotation machines
Flotation classifier
■ Laboratory flotation machines
Self-aerated mechanical flotation machines
Self-aerated mechanical flotation machines are flotation machines, in which aeration and pulp mixture is done by a rotating rotor. To self machines belong cells brands:
WEMCO (FLSmidth; USA)
Celda DENVER Sub-A. (USA).
Wormen (Australia)
WS-Morococha (Perú).
BOOTH (USA)
MAXWELL (Canada)?
Krupp (Germany)
Ferced aeration mechanical flotation machines
Ferced aeration mechanical flotation machines are flotation ma
chines, in which pulp aeration is done by compressed air consumption, but dispersion of air and pulp mixture is made by a rotating rotor.
DOOR-OLIVER cells (FLSmidth, USA)
BQR (South Africa)
RCS (Metso, Finland)
Denver DR (Made in USA)
BCS (Minemet, France)
Humboldt Wedag (Germany)
IZ (Poland)
AKER (Norway)
Outotec, Outokumpu (Finland)
In concentrator plants where the minerals are treated with low-grade and high c
apacity flotation machines of high volume (5000-240000 tpd). Flotation cells up to 600 m3 making more use of trademarks:
RCS flotation cells (Metso, Finland)
Pneumatic flotation machines (non-mechanical cells), in which pulp aeration is done by supplying the compressed air to a pneumatic system of aeration.
