Reading Music

Music is divided into sections called measures and each measure has an equal amount of beats. You can compare them to mathematical divisions of time.

Each piece of music is a time signature which gives rhythmic information about the song. The musical note (time signature) is like a fraction. If a musician does not under the importance and quality of a fraction how can they count music correctly?

Sound Frequency

Pythagoras (Greek philosopher and mathematician) supposedly discovered the foundations of musical tuning by listening to the sounds of four blacksmith's hammers. He found that he could control the pitch of a string by controlling the length.
