Tests

I grade based on proficiency. Proficiency means either you know and have mastered the concepts taught in class or you haven't. Tests are the primary means I use to measure proficiency.

    • 8th Grade tests count for 90% of your grade
    • 7th Grade tests count for 80% of your grade

You may retake a test any time before the end of a quarter to improve your grade. I am after school every day.

It is critical you understand concepts on the 5th Grade Math Pretest or you will likely have problems on the test. You should be working on the 5th Grade Math Pretest the day after you completed it. If practice problems and videos fro the Math Pretest Section are not clear come see me after school. If you do not understand 5th Grade math concepts it is likely that math will be difficult for you in both middle and high school.

If you complete the homework correctly then you will have no problems on the test. I am here every day after school. I provide the answers to the homework and if you don't understand the answers I will help you. I always put homework type problems on the test.

I give a quiz almost every day. One question is from the homework and the second question is from the 5th Grade Math Pretest or math concepts learned in 6th or 7th Grade. If you missed a quiz question immediate feedback is provided in the form of videos and/or practice problems. If you don't understand the videos or practice problems come see me after school.
