Math Master!
Practice solving various problems in focused middle school math concepts at the level I am at to master the math concept. I cannot move on to another section or problem if I answered incorrectly. If I have problems with my computer click on the links again to restart the section rather than refresh the page! I must save my work and answers in case I do not finish each section! Any work I do here is not graded! it is to help me understand these concepts better. Work is not saved in each section I work on until I submit your work. It is to help understand these concepts better. The most important math I will do in middle school and high school is algebra and solving equations. I study algebra because algebra helps me do any type of work more quickly and efficiently . This is why the focus is on solving equations. To solve equations it is important to understand number systems and patterns because if I don't understand arithmetic I cannot do math.
8th Grade Ready
7th Graders need to learn the following to be ready for 8th grade.
Priority 1. Number System and Patterns
Number patterns. Test you knowledge by changing the difficulty level from 1 (easy) to 3 (difficult).
Number System. Understand numbers and know that they can be represented in many different ways such as fractions, decimals, bases, variables and so much more.
Add mixed numbers with unlike denominators practice by Iknowit. When you are comfortable solving these problems do the next practice problems.
Mixed numbers. Add, subtract, multiply and divide. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 2.
Fractions, Decimals and Percents. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 3.
Percent practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 6
Percent to Fraction. Make up a number , do the work and then check your answer to see if you are doing it correctly
Priority 2. Order of Operations, Expression and Basic Equations
To solve more complicated equations which involve fractions, decimals (will add fractions and decimals later - 1/8/2021 Update), combining like terms parentheses and exponents we will initially focus on the Equation Solver Master which focuses on:
Order of Operations. Many middle school students miss problems solving equations because they haven't fully mastered order of operations. This section will start with the basics and change to very difficult order of operations problems.
Order of Operations practice. Set the number of operations to 4.
Order of Operations practice 2. Set the difficulty level to 3. Check exponents and parentheses also. Set time limit to no time limit.
Expressions. Combine like terms in expressions such as 3x +5 - 7x -12 +2y. Also use substitution when the variable is a number and/or exponents are used in the expression.
Expressions practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 5.
Equations. Incoming 8th grade students should be able to solve equations like 7x - 5) = 9x -9.
Step 1 Equations then Equations practice. For Equations practice Start at Level 1 and work to Level 5. Then click on Fraquations and work on Level 1 to Level 6.
Priority 2. Part 2. Coordinate Graph
Coordinate graph. I must understand the Cartesian plane and how to graph an equation.
Coordinate point practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 6.
Plotting graph practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 3
Deconstructing graphs by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 6
Priority 3. Proportions
Cross multiplication to solve proportions practice by AAA Mathematics
Priority 4. Volume
Volume practice. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 3
Priority 5. Inequalities
Inequality practice by Transum.org. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 5.
Priority 6. Angles
Angles with parallel lines practice. Start at Level 1 and work your way to past Level 3 and Mixed to Chase.
Priority 7.Statistics and Probability
Mean, median and range practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 4
Probability tree practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 3
High School Ready
8th Graders need to learn the following to be ready for high school.
Priority 1. Equation Solver Master
To solve more complicated equations which involve fractions, decimals (will add fractions and decimals later - 6/1/2021 Update), combining like terms parentheses and exponents we will initially focus on the Equation Solver Master which focuses on:
Order of Operations. Many middle school students miss problems solving equations because they haven't fully mastered order of operations. This section will start with the basics and change to very difficult order of operations problems.
Order of Operations practice. Set the number of operations to 4.
Order of Operations practice 2. Set the difficulty level to 3. Check exponents and parentheses also. Set time limit to no time limit.

Expressions practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 5.
Equations. Any incoming high school student should be able to solve the equation 3x- (7x - 5) = -5 + 8 (7x -6). Most students miss this problem because they haven't fully mastered order of operations, expressions or the process to solve an equation. If students are still getting the problem wrong it usually involves positive and negative numbers or multiplication errors.
Step 1 Equations then Equations practice. For Equations practice Start at Level 1 and work to Level 5. Then click on Fraquations and work on Level 1 to Level 6.
Priority 2. y =mx +b or Slope Intercept Form Master
Understand the relationships between scenarios, tile patterns, tables, graphs and rules as I solve equations. As I understand the connections between the different representations I truly understand y= mx +b (slope intercept form) and standard form.
Coordinate graph. I must understand the Cartesian plane and how to graph an equation to understand the connections between the table, graph and rule. before developing my understanding of y=mx+b or slope intercept form further.
Coordinate point practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 6.
Plotting graph practice by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 3
Deconstructing graphs by Transum. Start at Level 1 and work to Level 6
y=mx +b or Slope Intercept Form. The equation of the line can be solved with one point and a slope or using two points. i also need to know how to go from slope intercept form to y=mx+b form
Priority 3. Numbers and Patterns
Numbers and patterns should be understood before I start 8th grade. If I don't understand this section well then this section must be understood before starting Priority 1.
