Step 3. Multiplication and Division
Ideally students learned multiplication by studying patterns such as repeated addition. One of the better ways to learn about multiplication is through patterns with tools such as the Sieve of Eratosthenes
After you begin understanding patterns here is a good process to memorize multiplication facts (times tables to 9) in 7 days. Use the Timed Multiplication Quiz to help with all numbers except squares.
Step 1. Learn squares first. 2 x 2, 3 x 3 to 9 x 9
Step 2. Twos and squares. Twos are 2 x 3 to 2 x 9
Step 3. Fives, squares and twos. Fives are 5 x 6 to 5 x 9.
Step 4. Threes, squares, twos and fives. Threes are 3 x 4 to 3 x 9.
Step 5. Fours, squares, twos, fives and threes. Fours are 4 x 5, 4 x 6 to 4 x 9
