BoxTop e-AWB transmition
Before you go-live we would need to arrange an upgrade of your BoxTop installation. We also use the BoxTrax connection to your database so we can send the AWB data to the airline and update your Jobs with any updates provided by the Airline should you go-live with the service.
You would also be required to sign the IATA Multilateral e-Air Waybill Agreement, details of this can be found at http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/e/eawb/Pages/index.aspx along with a brief overview of the eAWB initiative.
and the multilateral forwarders agreement - http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/e/eawb/Pages/multilateral-forwarders.aspx
Once you are setup for e-AWB you would complete the AWB screen as you have done before making sure you use the "Pop Up" address windows for the Shipper/Consignee
Sending your E-AWB (FWB / FHL) notifications is straightforward, you complete an AWB as you would normally, then once the fields are all completed you click on the “Envelope” icon just under the Send button and this will check the AWB
You will then get a choice between these two:
FWB is for sending the details of the Master, FHL is for sending the details of the associated house waybill or waybills (if applicable). Always send both messages from the MASTER, even the FHL (if applicable) don’t send them from a HOUSE AWB. You can go into the HAWB to make changes, but you go back into the MASTER to send the FHL (if applicable).
Press the appropriate option, then provided all the data is correct it will take you to a submission screen, where you can review the message just prior to scrolling down to the bottom and pressing ‘submit’. If there are any issues with the data or address BoxTop will stop you and advise of the missing data.
if there is a validation failure we will show this screen and the boxes will show in YELLOW
Once you have completed any errors scroll down to the bottom and click send/transmit
You should receive a email later confirming the e-AWB and we also update the milestones in BoxTop
